The NSW Planning Portal carries an application at 77-105 Victoria Road. It covers demolition of all structures for a mixed use building of six storeys, stepping down to two storeys at Formosa Street. PlanningAlerts carries a City of Canada Bay application at 15B St Georges Crescent. It proposes demolition of the existing buildings and a residential flat building of eight to ten storeys over a basement. Neither is our job. But they are why demolition in Drummoyne has the record it does.
Drummoyne is postcode 2047 throughout, and the City of Canada Bay is the consent authority for every block in it. Super Demolition holds a current Demolition Licence and a current Asbestos Removal Licence, and takes on house knockdowns, partial demolition, pool and slab removal, shop and office strip-outs, and licensed asbestos removal, with the approval lodged as part of the job.
NSW gives you two ways to get one approved. A complying development certificate is issued by a private certifier against a fixed code: the land and the proposal either meet every standard in it or they do not. A development application goes to the City of Canada Bay instead, which assesses it on merit, notifies the neighbours its controls require, and can approve with conditions or refuse it.
This suburb leans towards the second. In the NSW Planning Portal’s demolition typed records for the City of Canada Bay, addresses here account for 96 development applications against 28 complying development certificates. Read that as history, not a forecast: it counts what other owners lodged, the Victoria Road and St Georges Crescent proposals among them, and none of it was your block.
Your own route is read off the lot: zoning, any heritage or conservation mapping over it under Canada Bay Local Environmental Plan 2013, and what goes in beside the demolition. A house coming down on its own often qualifies for the certificate. Tie it to a dual occupancy, a subdivision or a basement and it usually will not. It is an eligibility, not a preference.
Jack owns the business and usually walks the block with you. Super Demolition is family owned and managed, with over 30 years behind the work. The rating sits at 5.0 across 84 reviews.
Two authorisations do this job, and a contractor can hold one without the other. Ask us, or anyone quoting you, to produce:

The site assessment costs nothing and the written quote follows it. Every enquiry is answered within 24 hours. Call 0455 888 819.
Tell us how much is going and the rest follows. A full knockdown takes the house, garage, shed, paving, footings and slab, and hands the block back level. A partial demolition takes a rear wing or upper storey while what remains stays propped and weatherproofed. Pools, driveways and retaining walls go the same way.
Work inside a unit, shop or office floor is a strip-out: fittings, linings and services out, structure untouched, and that is our commercial demolition service.
Asbestos will not wait to be scheduled. It usually appears once the linings are off and a crew is on site, so nothing stops while a second company is found. It comes out under our own licence to a facility approved to receive it, and our asbestos removal service sets out the dockets and clearance that follow.
None of this is yours to chase, and the job stalls on any of it.
The application to the City of Canada Bay, or the certificate through a private certifier, goes first, because its conditions set everything after. Council notification and written notice to the neighbours entitled to it follow. Then WorkCover approval and a Work Method Statement for your address, Dial Before You Dig plans, and the electrical, gas and phone or internet disconnections. Asbestos comes out under licence, with EPA approved NSW disposal and dockets back to you. The clearance certificate is the last piece, and it is yours once the site is signed off.
Not from the suburb, and not from a floor area. What moves it is what a photograph never shows: what the building is made of, whether asbestos is in it, how a machine and truck reach the block, and how much has to be carted away.
So somebody stands on the site first, and that costs nothing. The written quote itemises the works, the approvals and the disposal, and the figure at the bottom is the figure you pay. No hidden fees, no variations. Already holding a written quote? Show it and we will beat it.
The same crews and licences work across Inner West Sydney. These three answer to the City of Canada Bay as well:
Yes. AS 2601-2001 has the building surveyed before anything is touched, so hazardous material is identified on paper rather than found by a machine. Owners are usually right about the sheeting they can see and wrong about what is behind the linings.
The consent is settled, the rest of the paperwork is not. Dial Before You Dig plans, the Work Method Statement, WorkCover approval, the service disconnections and the asbestos documentation all still have to be done, and your certificate’s conditions met on site.
By staging it. Where a bin cannot sit out the front all day, material is carted in runs instead of stockpiled, smaller plant goes in where access is tight, and the site stays fenced between loads. That is worked out on the site visit, not on the morning.
Not in the standard applied to it. The survey, the licensing, the notifications and the clearance certificate are the same on a cottage as on a block of units. What changes is the route: a standalone house often qualifies for a certifier, while an apartment site is assessed on merit by council. That is why the larger jobs dominate this register.

The applications that draw attention here are the large ones, and they are why the suburb’s record reads as it does. Yours will be quieter: a house, a garage, a pool or a shop floor, and a level block handed back on the date your builder wants it. Send the address and a line about what is standing on it.
